Thankfully, we made it safely to the airport and enjoyed an uneventful 40 minute hop to Siem Reap on Bangkok Airways. We were even served breakfast; is it just me, or do flight attendants back home barely leave their seats on a flight that short?
Some shots from flying into Siem Reap:
Other than the Red Baron on the far right, we were the only plane at the airport!
Siem Reap airport:
Cambodia was hot and humid! It's winter here also, but everyone was talking about how unusually warm it was--in the mid-90's most days we were here!
We stayed at the Sojourn (actually located in a tiny village just outside of Siem Reap) and LOVED it. The place was small, with only 8 or so bungalows.
Pool and gardens:
Jasmine bracelet they gave me when we arrived--smelled delicious!
Awesome welcome drink (limeade) and coconut pancakes!
Our bungalow:
Believe it or not, all of my clothes/shoes/toiletries/etc. are in the one bag in the picture below! (Anyone who knows me and my tendancy to bring everything I own on trips will know what a tremendous feat that is!)
Cool waterfall bathtub:
Outdoor shower and garden:
More later -- Thanksgiving in Cambodia!
